Rod and Gun Rock fishing Lopez bass and salmon report

The Lopez area yields scattered salmon around Port San Luis but solid bass and halibut bottom fishing near Ventura Oxnard islands. Harbor Associates reports 870 salmon from June 8 to 13 across 230 boats, with kings up to 35 pounds and silvers. Rock fishing continues with good luck, and San Luis Sportsfishing operates near daily bottom and salmon trips with reservations essential.

Alameda Beats Lompoc In Practice Baseball Game

Alameda defeated Lompoc 4 to 2 in a practice game at Lompoc High, called after darkness with Lompoc scoring in the sixth. Bob loss went to Chris Banzhof who worked five innings allowing one hit and one run with eight strikeouts. Hain and Schroll finished for Alameda, Borchard had two hits for Lompoc.

Angels call up Hassler to fill vacancy on roster

The California Angels added lefthander Andy Hassler from the Pacific Coast League to fill the roster spot created by the sale of Andy May Hassler. He may make his first start Wednesday night after spending part of 1971 and 1973 with the Angels.
