President Nixon wrapped up a five nation peace tour in Amman with promises of economic and military aid to Jordan and a plan to meet King Hussein again in Washington to pursue a permanent Middle East settlement. He signed a joint communique with Hussein pledging the U S will maintain Jordan's military strength and invited Hussein to visit Washington after a stopover in the Azores.
