Debris found from missing Shooting Star amid yacht tragedy
Debris of the missing Sailing Shooting Star was recovered about 32 miles northwest of San Benito Island off Baja California. A 13 foot dinghy and cabin sections were found, with 10 people aboard still unaccounted for. Significant names include Ronald W. Fires burn over two thousand acres in Southern California
A weekend of brush fires across Ventura County to San Diego blackened more than 2 200 acres. The largest blaze in Bouquet Canyon of the Angeles National Forest scorched over 1 400 acres as winds over 35 mph hampered containment. Fire crews from the U S Forest Service and county departments fought the flames through the night with six aircraft and three helicopters aiding.
