Walters denies Nixon funds in AIP purge plot in California

The ringleader in a failed plan to drop the American Independent Party from California ballots denies receiving $10,000 from the Nixon campaign. He says the effort was not aided by American Nazis and headed a late 1971 to early 1972 registration drive. In Los Angeles he claims no funding and cites possible Nazi involvement by a few workers.

Summer comes to Southern California amid expansion plans

Southern California greets summer as the county Board of Supervisors approves 210000 from revenue sharing for a county wide microwave expansion. Raymond Johnson says the system will speed county work and save about 4000 a month in tolls. Sheriff Carpenter and Fire Chief Risdon back the project as a tie in for emergency services. Sheriff to hire seven more deputies in Goleta and Santa Ynez

County supervisors approved adding six officers in Goleta Valley and one in Santa Ynez Valley under a 1968 population based formula. The measure, opposed by Raymond D.
