County Administrative Officer Raymond Johnson told the Board that tax relief for local property taxpayers is unlikely under current reforms. He expects a $70.3 million general fund budget for the new year, notes uncertainty in Medi-Cal revenue and property tax relief funding, and cites estimates of a $362,000 Medi-Cal revenue loss and a $25 million net increase in assessed valuation. Budget hearings begin July 5 with several funding requests pending.
