Santa Barbara County Fair floral winners list many Lompoc names
Ribbons awarded at the last week's Santa Barbara County Fair flower show featured Lompoc residents among top finishers. Mrs. Kermit Hover led with multiple first place entries across ageratum candytuft centaurea clarkia cosmos marigold nasturtiums verbena zinnia and dahlia. Other local winners included Mrs. Geneva Moreland, Mrs. Burnett, Mrs. Stoll, Rosa Webber, and Miss Margaret Keyes sharing numerous blue ribbons in carnations pansies pelargoniums hydrangeas and more.

Baton teacher earns credential
Ruthann Manseau becomes the first Lompoc baton teacher to earn the Associate Certificated Teacher's Credential from the United States Twirling Association. She trained 11 weeks over five years at camps in Santa Cruz Los Angeles Okland Squaw Valley and Santa Barbara earning eight personal trophies one medal and 15 ribbons. In Santa Barbara July 12 16 she completed 12 hours of lectures a practical twirling test and a 13 page teaching methods exam while teaching one class daily.

Xi Lambdas Ice Cream Social Draws Members and Guests
