County split petitions certified by supervisors

County officials certified the county split petitions after debate over whether the state attorney general should rule on the matter. County Clerk Recorder Howard Menzel reported a surplus of 368 signatures toward the 11 298 required, even if the AG opined against the county counsel. The board approved notifying Gov Brown of sufficiency and urged prompt appointments to the five member County Formation Commission.
