U.S. Keeps Strong Forces in Korea for Years

Defense Secretary Brown announced Washington will retain the 2nd Infantry Division headquarters and two brigades in South Korea until the final stage of a four to five year withdrawal, and will add 12 F4 Phantom jets to bolster deterrence. Unionized Military in Doubt as AFGE Seeks Vote

Enterprise completes final captive shuttle flight test at Edwards

Edwards AFB reports the shuttle Enterprise conducted a 60 minute captive flight with minor sensor and steam issues. NASA officials say Aug. 12 free flight will proceed, noting the test included a separation rehearsal and successful gear deployment.
