Disneyland trip excites Lompoc teens on sponsored bus outing
Thirty four Lompoc youths traveled to Anaheim by Greyhound on July 10 with Parks and Recreation sponsors. Chaperons Julie Schlesser and Chuck Boyd accompanied the group as they enjoyed Magic Kingdom entertainment including The Kids of the Kingdom and Dapper Dans performances.

Lompoc Senior High will host a dance August 8 in the cafeteria with Crystal Woods band. Tickets cost 0.75 and event runs 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Teens invited. Also a bottle drive by Lompoc High Support Groups tomorrow 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Disneyland trips offered by Parks and Recreation at 12 dollars for transport and a 15 ticket book leaving August 7 at 7 a.m. Police in Columbus, Indiana struggled to corral a 500-pound cow that wandered into town, taking two hours to lasso it.

Nancy Donovan, a seven year 4-H member from Mission Vieja, earned a Santa Barbara County 4-H All Star award. She and three other winners will attend a state All Star conference at the University of California Davis in August after a June 29 announcement in Solvang. The group will tour Sacramento and San Francisco before returning home by Greyhound.

Lompoc Groups Return With Superior Cheer Trophies
Lompoc Highs songleaders and cheerleaders returned from the Olympia Village Squaw Valley camp held July 6 to 10 with superior trophies. The two squads earned multiple awards including two superior ribbons for cheerleaders and several placements for songleaders. The National Cheerleading Association sponsors about 120 camps nationwide.
