Ocean fishing slows after hot weekend with strong catches

After a red hot weekend the ocean fishing eased due to rough seas. Boats averaged three salmon per trip with fish up to forty pounds. From Monday to Thursday 112 boats caught 358 salmon, with A.B.C. and Marauder both limited out on certain days. A 45 pound white sea bass was landed near the breakwater alongside calico bass and halibut in Ventura Oxnard. Freshwater reports note slow bass at Cachuma but improving bass at Lopez and Nacimiento with discussions of size limits. A salmon and antelope hunting update follows with a public drawing planned for buck antelope permits and a strong antelope population count.
