Funeral services for longtime Lompoc rancher Charles Davis

Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. for Charles Augustus Davis a 95 year old resident of Lompoc who died Thursday at his home. Davis owned the Davis Ranch at Rucker Road and Lompoc Casmalia Road and was a pioneer in the valley for 76 years. Burial will be at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Boyd officiating. He was born April 26 1876 in Woodland California and is survived by his wife two daughters five grandchildren a sister and a nephew.

Federal survey may fund aerospace worker retraining

C T Vogt of Experience Unlimited says a federal survey of underemployed and unemployed aerospace workers in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties could unlock federal money for relocation and retraining. Ex-aerospace workers in the Lompoc Santa Maria area are urged to register with the Employment Services Group by noon July 19 at 712 East Chapel Street in Santa Maria.
