Ryan Throws Second No-Hitter In A Season For Angels

Nolan Ryan, 26, pitched a 6-0 no-hitter against the Detroit Tigers in Detroit, striking out 12 of 14, as the California Angels halted a four-game losing streak. He finished with 17 strikeouts, and the Angels added a five-run eighth inning to seal the win before 41,411. Other AL games featured New York over Kansas City 2-0 and Oakland beating Milwaukee 8-5.

Lompoc Ruth team wins district final over Nipomo 11-9

Bryan Montgomery delivered a two run single in the sixth to break a 9 9 tie as Lompoc Babe Ruth All Stars beat Nipomo 11 9 in the Southern Section District Three final at Pioneer Park.
