County budget rises after two weeks of hearings
After two weeks of public hearings the Board of Supervisors increased the county budget raising the prospects of a tax levy above the planned 75 cent rise for the current rate of 3.01. Departments including sheriff and district attorney saw boosts while night meetings and deeper cuts were avoided.

Man Arrested After Paycheck Dispute Escalates
