Womans Club Announces New Board And Plans

The Lompoe Community Woman's Club introduced its new board and committee chairs at a meeting hosted by President Mrs. Reuben Carlson at 634 N. First St. A salad lunch followed as members discussed winter plans and summer activities.

Sandra Wootten and Nathan Armstrong Wed in San Bernardino Church

Sandra Wootten and Nathan Aaron Armstrong exchanged vows in a double ring ceremony at San Bernardino First Christian Church. The bride, daughter of Jack and Mrs. Wootten, wore a cotton lace gown. the groom is son of Elbert Armstrong of Lompoc. A reception for about 200 followed with 25 relatives at an informal patio gathering. The couple resides in Santa Maria after honeymooning in San Diego and Mexico.

Lompoc Youth Volunteers Head to Central America Mission

Four Lompoc Amigos De Las Americas volunteers from Cabrillo High School and nearby students depart for Honduras and Nicaragua after six months of training. They will live with villagers three weeks, implement village projects, and immunize against diphtheria smallpox polio and other diseases. The group supervised by Rev. Richard Harris will return August 1 after conducting hygienic and health education work.

Retired Persons to Hear AARP NATA Executive in Lompoc

Joe C Gunn, longtime executive with AARP and NATA West Coast HQ, will address Lompoc Chapter 557 on July 15 at the Veterans Memorial Building. Gunn, a retired Army major and Bronze Star recipient, helped launch the Institute of Lifetime Learning and now oversees operations for the two associations. Patricia Anne Voelker and Sgt Wayne M Davey announce their engagement. Voelker works for Pacific Wood Products in Los Angeles while Davey trains at Fort Ord.
