County beat IRS to takeover of Lompoc Airport

County officials moved to take control of Lompoc Airport ahead of IRS action over unpaid federal taxes. The shift, led by Supervisor Francis H. Argentine Hijacked Jet Leaves Cuba with Passengers

An Argentine airliner hijacked on a domestic flight departed Havana en route to Buenos Aires with seven crew and two passengers aboard. The hijacker Basilio Jose Mazo, who claimed a personal motive, reportedly remained in custody while 40 passengers left at stops. The flight carried $700,000 in cash unaware to the crew.
