Hancock College Conservatory Opens with Fiddler on the Roof

The Pacific Conservatory of Performing Arts at Hancock College starts its 1971 season with Fiddler on the Roof in a scholarship fundraiser. James Moll directs a 43 member cast for a 47 day season featuring Hotel Paradise Cabaret The Electra and Hamlet across 55 performances. Dono van Marley cites a highly selective intake from over 50 colleges as building the strongest company yet.

Six-man juries eyed for federal criminal cases

Chief Justice Warren E. Burger discussed a potential move toward six member juries in federal courts including criminal cases. He noted civil cases already use six jurors in about 15 districts and said smaller juries could save money while awaiting broader study and acceptance.
