Viet Cong Stir Up Hornet's Nest In Cambodia

UPI reports that Viet Cong and North Vietnamese forces swept into Cambodia near the Vietnamese border on April 30. The advance pressured Lon Nol's government while Cambodian and South Vietnamese troops, aided by U S forces, fought to slow the invasion and hold key towns like Suong Chap and Kratie. The plan aimed to seize the Mekong corridor and topple Cambodia's leadership, but weak Cambodian resistance and redeployed forces limited gains.
