First international crew named for 1975 space mission
NASA announced Brig. Gen. Thomas Stafford Donald K Slayton and Vance Brand will fly the 1975 mission to meet Russian cosmonauts in earth orbit. The group will train with Soviet crews in Houston this summer and dock with Soyuz craft in a historic linkup. Slayton, 51, ends a 16 year wait to fly. Brand is 41 and Stafford 42.
