Three Haitians seek asylum after ransom for diplomats release
In Mexico City authorities will review asylum requests from three Haitians who helped free 12 political prisoners and obtain 70 000 dollars. They released U S Ambassador Clinton E Knox and Consul Ward Christensen after kidnapping them in Port au Prince. The group arrived in Mexico City with 10 men and 5 women and were granted temporary political asylum pending background checks.
