Pound sinks to record low as France floats franc

The British pound plunged to a historic low near $2.16 amid the crisis and France’s decision to float the franc. The Bank of England intervened by selling dollars and the pound recovered to about $2.17. Britain’s December trade deficit reached $726 million, pushing 1973’s gap to $5.165 billion, though October’s was larger.

Exorcist Priest Says Diabolic Forces Driven From People

A 57-year-old priest claims relics of saints expelled diabolic forces from a Daly City couple, their 2-year-old child, and a former college professor. Eight mudslide victims found in Oregon search update

In Canyonville Oregon six more bodies were recovered including four found Sunday and three earlier from a Canyon Creek pocket. Victims include Bell employees Robert Miller Roseburg and William Centers Medford plus Gilbert Maret Wilbur and William Combs Roseburg. Ray Bell remains missing.
