Trailerites Enjoy First Outing of Year at El Capitan Beach

Lompoc Travel Trailer Club defied bad weather for its first outing of the year at El Capitan State Beach. Ira and Dottie Summers hosted with beach hikes, shell collecting, rockhound activities, and a Saturday bonfire.

Discovery Club Girls Promote Service Through Fun

An active Camp Fire group, the Ta wan ka Wa cin ton Tanda unit, includes Merlene Mowery as adviser and Ingrid Manfreda as assistant. They share theater season tickets with Hapgood School third graders, plan torch bearer interior decorating, and intend visits to Hearst Castle and other sites. A February Magic Mountain trip is planned with a March Red Cross Month service project. Funds come from directory insert distributions and Christmas wrap sales.

Birthday celebrants honored at Lompoc Hospital

In the hospital’s long term care unit two residents were feted this week Laura Begg born January 13 1886 in Nebraska and aged 88 and Houder W True born January 20 1888 in Arcadia Nebraska who has lived in Lompoc eleven years. Barbara Paulin and Judy Burns provided birthday cakes for the Americanism club project. Laura Begg married John Begg on Christmas Eve 1915 and has three sons Eugene Stanley LeRoy eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. True has two grandchildren Mark and Cathy True who visit often.
