Trailer housing for seniors eyed in Lompoc parks

The Community Action Commission asks the city to approve a trailer lease program supervised by the County Housing Authority to provide rental units for low income seniors with government aid. Authority reports 75 units in Santa Maria and 460 in the county. City Council approval needed to proceed.

Funeral services for Thomas C. Hansen

Thomas C. Hansen 42 died yesterday in Santa Barbara. A retired Air Force sergeant and Civil Service employee, he will be honored Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Marys Episcopal Church in Santa Barbara. He was born October 22, 1926 in Winslow, Arizona. He is survived by his widow Erika, a son Thomas Jr, and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Chris A. Hansen of Winslow. Interment will follow at Lom poc Evergreen Cemetery.

Council weighs four month extension for city library pact

City Council to consider a four month extension on the library construction deadline from February 28 to June 30. Officials say the extension centers on the Federal grant and auditing needs, not the current work pace, with a moving date around March 1 and furniture issues lingering. Louis Garcia notes the contractor’s progress is behind schedule by about two weeks but disputes slowdowns from a labor dispute.
