The second annual powderpuff basketball game at Lompoc High School in March features semifinals on March 6 and a finale on March 20. Returning seniors and juniors headline rosters from last year with new players and coaches to be chosen, as teams practice since January 15 hoping for victory.

Quiet Lompoc High senior Jesse Ortiz named class president and standout wrestler
Jesse Ortiz, a 5'5" 136 pound senior at Lompoc High School, leads as Class of 1970 president and presiding Lettermans Club head. A three time wrestling letter winner with a 3rd place CIF finish, he maintains a B average while working twelve hours weekly and participates in tennis and cross country. He moved from Cheyenne Wyoming in 1955 and plans to attend a New Mexico college.

LHS CHS Teams Earn Awards At Arroyo Grande Meet
Cabrillo and Lompoc earned awards as returning from Arroyo Grande High School tournament. Lompoc placed second. Righetti took first. Finalists included Linda Schermerhorn and Juan Mora for LHS.
