Rabies Immunization Clinic For Dogs Today

An anti rabies inoculation clinic for dogs only will be held today from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building corner of H Street and Locust Avenue. The fee is 2.50 and state law requires dogs over four months to be inoculated.

Calvin Welch Named Record Carrier of the Year at Grange Banquet

Fifteen year old Calvin Welch won the Lompoc Record Carrier of the Year award at a Grange banquet, receiving a trophy and a $100 savings bond. he also won a 10 speed bicycle door prize. Runner up was L V Golson who earned a trophy and a $50 savings bond. Other regional youths named as runners up also received trophies.

Apollo 17 Crew to Visit Lompoc Valley Ceremonies

Apollo 17 astronauts Eugene A. Cerman Ronald E. Evans and Harrison H. Schmitt will attend ceremonies in the Lompoc Valley on Tuesday hosted by NASA center officials and employees. Floods devastate northern California towns and roads

Northern California rivers runaway floodwaters forced evacuations around Guerneville as Russian River, Napa and Sacramento River crested. Marin County saw homes destroyed by slides and others damaged while a resident trapped two hours in Marin City miraculously survived as heavy rain continued.

Lompoc Council to discuss H Street signage and lane changes

City officials plan a seven thirty p.m. meeting at City Hall to review three southbound directional signs on North H Street by Ocean Avenue linking to Highways 1 and 246 and discuss left turn lanes at North Avenue. Also on agenda are zoning signs east of Highway 1, a county services pact, wastewater project scheduling changes, and a public nuisance hearing at 1152 North F Street.
