Decrease in school taxes under SB 90 eyed

Preliminary estimates by Lompoc Unified School District's Joe Carlin show current property taxes of 4.61 per 100 may drop to about 2.60 after SB 90. Gov Reagan signed the relief measure last month and a trailer bill is moving to clarify SB 90 generalities.

Kissinger Tho Meet In Paris For Sixth Session On Vietnam Peace

Lompoc Wye Rezoning and Impact Study Recommendations

County staff urged full environmental impact statements for a proposed 89 unit retirement condo near Solvang and for the Lompoc Wye area rezoning from residential to highway commercial. The projects involve Petersen Development Corp and Avco Savings on nine and 24.22 acre parcels with multiple structures and a golf course. The Ellwood area 58 unit condo and a 132 percent road grade proposal also attract environmental review comments.
