Col Herbert S. Holdsambeck, a Birmingham native, will succeed Col Otto R. Haney as Commander of the 6595th Aerospace Test Wing at Van Denberg AFB. A command pilot with 3800+ flying hours, his career spans WWII B 17 combat, engineering instruction at the U S Naval Academy, Armament testing at Eglin AFB, USAF HQ posts, space and ballistic missile programs, and leadership of the 6555th Wing at Patrick AFB. He holds degrees from Auburn Princeton MIT and has earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and several other decorations. he is married with four children.
