Bethany Ladies Guild Installation and Projects Set

Bethany Lutheran Ladies League held an installation service led by Rev. W B Petzoldt in Timothy Hall. Officers installed were Mrs Charles L Johnson president Mrs Darrell Gabel vice president Mrs Wilton Klawster secretary and Mrs LeRoy Olsen treasurer. Committee chairs include Mrs Glenn Borman Christian growth and others. The group approved projects such as caring for the Lompoc Thrift Shop in cooperation with Peace Lutheran Church and discussed mission topics on South American work led by Mrs Arnold. A guest from Mazon Ill attended and hostesses were Mrs Richard Nash Mrs George Wright and Mr Ted Whitefield.

Community Woman's Club Program Delights Members

Virginia Scott presented a musical program for the Community Woman's Club featuring autoharp accompaniment and a closing self penned children's song The Building Song. Guests included Mrs Roy Wahlberg and Swiss visitor Mrs Tuliette Ackermann amid luncheon at the Golden Greek Restaurant.

Exchange student to speak for PTA at La Cañada

Theo Widershaven, a Holland foreign exchange student, will address the La Cañada PTA about his homeland and exchange program experiences with slides. Mrs. William Bottoms introduces the speaker, presiding by Mrs. Lee C. Hill in the school cafetorium at 7:30 p.m. Posters of Holland decorate the room. Social hour and refreshments are organized by Mrs. Anthony Domingos.

Dear Abby column offers counsel on widowhood and family concerns

Houseguests and travels of local residents during holidays

Local families welcomed relatives from New York Oregon and Germany over the holidays. Plans included trips to Solvang San Simeon Carmel Monterey Madonna Inn and Disney property. Visitors also joined area residents for Kiwanis midwinter events and a Puerto Rico trip was planned.

Roof raising marks step toward dream of adoption

An old fashioned roof raising party is planned Friday January 24 at 211 S I St to celebrate Lom poc Quota Club guests and Mrs Charlotte Penton as the beam rises atop a two story addition. Donations of 1 are asked to help the local Girls Club as the evergreen beam symbol stands for luck and happiness for the household.
