Lempoc Kennel Club Gains AKC Sanction for Shows
The Lempoc Valley Kennel Club earned official AKC sanction after letters of recognition from local officials and the LVKC president. The club, active since 1962, will now host AKC approved matches and shows attracting out of town spectators and breeders. Membership stands at 50 with 150 to 175 pure bred dogs.

United Press International reports Israel will establish 22 additional settlements in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, bringing total to 32 and seen as de facto annexation. The Jewish Agency notes over 5 million dollars invested with more planned, as settlers occupy abandoned Syrian camps awaiting permanent homes.
