Camp Fire offers third annual Child Care course for girls

The Camp Fire Girls announce a six week course beginning Tuesday January 13 at 3 00 p m in Lompoc Junior High School Room 59. Open to all junior high girls the program costs 1 00 includes book and certificate with instruction on babysitting first aid safety and child care led by Mrs Richard Harris and a Fire Department representative. A future session includes hands on work with a real baby. Mrs Charles Lumsden chairs the course which meets for an hour weekly.

Kiwanis Annes to Install Officers in Lompoc

Mrs. Robert Sauzek will be installed as new president of Lompoc Kiwanis Annes at a dinner meeting in Village Inn. New officers include Mrs. Ron Sutherland as vice president and Mrs. Mark Edwards as secretary, with Mrs. John Smith as treasurer. Mrs. Cliff Phillips to be installed as past president at the dinner. Social hour precedes at 7:30 p.m. hosted by Mrs. Francis Underwood with Mrs. Phillips assisting. New officers were chosen at a Christmas party hosted by Mrs. Richard Osmundson.

Lompoc Toastmasters install new officers for 1970

Lompoc Valley Toastmasters Club held its first meeting of the year at the Golden Greek Restaurant. New president Gordon Oakley and an eight member administration were sworn in by Don Eusch. Outstanding service awards and the William J. Roush Memorial Award were presented to club members and local supporters. The club meets on the first and third Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at the Golden Greek.

Ex addicts to speak at Cabrillo High PTA meeting

The Cabrillo PTA schedules a January 14 7:30 p.m. program in the Little Theater at Cabrillo Senior High School featuring the Teen Challenge Group returnees discussing narcotics dangers and the need for parent school church and police cooperation. Members urge youth and parents to attend and learn how to resist drug pressures.
