Kiwanis Club Reports Growth and Community Support in 1968
The Lompoc Kiwanis Club, led by outgoing president Fran Underwood, grew from 44 to 47 members in 1968 and funded youth programs including Little League Baseball, Lompoc Youth Football, Babe Ruth League, Boys' and Girls' Clubs, and the Olympic Fund. Major activities included sending local athletes to the Christian Athlete Conference in Ashland Oregon and earning the McDonald Trophy for inter-club visits, with 78 members traveling over 3700 miles. Scholastic achievement trophies were awarded to top students in local schools.

Guard to Change at Supervisors Meet in 1969 Session
The Board of Supervisors will hold its initial session for 1969 on Monday January 6 with Francis H Beattie of Lompoc named as the new chairman replacing Curtis Tunnell of Santa Maria. Beattie becomes the second north county supervisor to head the board in two years and relinquishes his chairmanship of the County Water Agency. First District Supervisor George H Clyde remains board chairman of the Flood Control and Water Conservation District and becomes vice chairman, with rotation policy to award the chair to a different member each year. CONTRACT Base procurement officials announced two contracts totaling more than 45800 to Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing in St Paul for magnetic tape and Ampex Corporation in Glendale for high resolution instrumentation tape.

Rezoning requested for trailer park in Goleta Valley
