North-South Chess Match and County League Plans Lead Local Focus
The North South Chess Match is slated for May 16 likely in San Luis Obispo with the Cal Junior Tournament in Los Angeles by late June. Lompoc Valley Chess Club and the Foundation back two to three local youths while Righetti High joins the county league and Santa Barbara High eyes entry. Korte schedules matches as seven county high schools join with hopes to include 13 or 14 by September.
