Past Presidents of the American Legion Auxiliary held a February 15 party at Anna Petersen’s home with hostesses Hulda Ingamells Audrey Reed Winnie Williams Kay Zema Alma Learned and Mrs Petersen. The group played bingo winning prizes for certain games and initiated two new members Audrey Smith and Clara Gustman. Decorations featured Valentine motifs and refreshments included a chocolate birthday cake for Maye Bishop baked by Alma Learned. Spring Officers Wives Fashion Show At Branch USDB
More than 50 members and guests attended a spring fashion show hosted by the Officers' Wives' Club on February 16 in the Officers' Club at the Branch USDB. The event began with tea hosted by Mrs. William M. Scott and Mrs. Walter R. May, with calla lilies, stock and calendulas enhancing the theme. Moore's Department Store of Lompoc supplied casual, maternity, cocktail, semi formal and formal wear with a California flavor. Girl's Shoes of Lompoc provided matching footwear. Narration was by Mrs. Thomas M. Love, assisted by Mrs. John B. Lavell, with Mrs. Milford B. Barrick as pianist. Models included Mrs. Norman J. Kinley, Mrs. Raymond J. Abernethy, Mrs. Harold W. Ferdinand, Mrs. Warren S. Olin, Mrs. Richard P. Giacomazzi, and Mrs. Hugh J. Blakely, who chaired the show.

Poets Contest Opens March First in Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara students from city and county can enter the third annual Junior Poets Contest of the Chaparral Poets chapter. Entries must be 25 lines or less and submitted to Chair Virginia Rose Smith by May 1. Prizes include five dollars for first, three dollars for second, and two honorable mention book awards.

Marion Margaret Hoyek born February 29 1944 at 3 17 am registered at Community Hospital is Lompoe's only Leap Year Day child.
