Lompoc Hospital District approves compromise on long term care beds

Board backs a plan to seek state approval for 50 long term care beds with 42 in a Walnut Avenue facility and 8 in the Hickory Avenue acute care center, plus 32 board and care beds for a total 74 beds. The move aims at a balanced, statewide compliant expansion.

New base commander honored at Lompoc luncheon

Regional alcoholism council to meet in Lompoc library

The Western Regional Alcholism Council will meet Thursday in the Lompoc Public Library multipurpose room. Acting chairman Ken Dial will run the session. Officers will be elected from a nominating committee slate with floor nominations. John Scanlon and Mrs Dorothy Dial will be confirmed as Santa Barbara County Alcoholism Committee representatives. County officials seek 33 156 from the State Air Resources Board to buy a mobile air quality laboratory. Health Officer Dr Joseph Nardo says funds would cover a mobile unit to assess rule effectiveness, noting a prior 1972-73 federal request was not approved by the EPA.
