UPI reports Dist Atty James Garrison rested his case against Clay Shaw in New Orleans after the Louisiana Supreme Court refused to delay. Alcock declared the state rests after 26 court days and 12th day of testimony with 43 witnesses on conspiracy to murder President Kennedy in 1963.

Santa Maria youths held in liquor store robbery case

Two Santa Maria youths, Samuel Valdez and David Castro, were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon after they attacked Lom poc liquor store owner Axel Jansson, 52, with an ax handle during a nighttime robbery attempt. Jansson was treated at Lompoc Hospital in fair condition for scalp lacerations.

Bandits rob trailer court with fatal harm and chained victims

Burglaries Lead to Four TV Thefts in Lompoc Stores

Police reported two burglaries in Lompoc in which four television sets valued at more than 1300 dollars were stolen. Linden's Furniture Store at 326 N H Street lost two sets valued at 820 dollars from the warehouse area, while A and B Furniture Store at 422 W Ocean Ave lost two sets valued at 522 dollars during Monday daylight. Both losses were classified as grand thefts.
