Club Arcturus sets fifth annual ball theme Some Enchanted Evening

Club Arcturus announces the fifth annual ball to be held Saturday Feb 17 in the Grand Ballroom Veterans Memorial Hall Locust Ave and St Louise. Mrs John Artis chairs the event with co chairs Mrs Sidney Dansby Ruth Davis Willie Walters as entertainment chair and others handling decorations publicity and invitations. Tickets are 10 per couple or 5 for a single admission.

Jr Miss winners highlighted at state pageant in Santa Rosa

Kathy Borowski of Lompoc reports that 36 Jaycees Clubs declared all Jr Miss entrants winners at the California state competition. One was chosen as representative to the national contest in Mobile Alabama, also earning a $1000 state scholarship. a runner up received $500. Kathy won runner up in the Breck styling contest and a prize set. She emphasizes the program’s rewards and urges juniors to try again next December.

Ruth Roberts Enjoys Naples Italy Holiday Visit With Family

Ruth Roberts and daughter Linda with Lt. Cmdr. David Longenecker and children visited Naples on a long vacation from Lompoc. They experienced Italian Christmas and Epiphany customs, watched New Year fireworks, toured Capri and Amalfi, shopped in Naples back alleys, and enjoyed local art, cuisine, and a NATO base visit.
