Kilbourne Recall Case Casts Unclear Arrest Prospects

The DA remains silent on whether an arrest warrant for Kenneth Kilbourne, former Carpinteria city councilman, will be issued. Kilbourne skipped a Dec 23 court appearance on a three county campaign expenditure case alleging violations of state elections code. Deputy DA Arvid Johnson refused to disclose strategy, promising only that Kilbourne would raise a “scream” if arrested.

Santa Barbara man arrested after Lom Valley Cable burglary

Robert Walter Theis 23 was arrested in Vandenberg Village after allegedly burglarizing Lom Valley Cable TV at 3865 Constellation Road. He was jailed in Lompoc on $1,000 bail. he claimed he had been drinking. Alexander Turner, 55, of 429 South H St., faced DUI court action after an early Sunday arrest in the 1400 block of North H Street and was booked on $750 bail.

Obituary for Charles A. Slavens of Lompoc

Funeral services were held for 47 year old Charles A. Slavens at Starbuck Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Wallis Turner and Chaplain Don Severson officiating. He died Thursday at Lompoc District Hospital after nine years in Lompoc and a prior Missouri birth. Interment will be in Maple Park Cemetery Springfield Missouri. Survivors include his wife Margaret son Chris daughter Kimberly mother Elma Slavens brothers Darrell Ralph sisters Wanda Shirley Pat Kay. Memorials to Calvary Baptist Church.

Lompoc Resident Rejoins Ashland Festival as Celastics Technician

Lompoc resident David Hissom, son of James Hissom, returns for a second year with the Ashland Oregon Festival as a celastics technician. He previously designed costumes for The Hostage at the Santa Maria Performing Arts Center Theatre and worked as a technician for the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Santa Maria.

Anita Sanchez Joins Oregon Shakespeare Festival as Seamstress

Anita Jane Sanchez daughter of Ellen Sanchez of Lompoc California has joined the Oregon Shakespearan Festival as a seamstress. She earned an A A degree in Drama from Pacific Performing Arts in Santa Maria and helped build costumes for Godspell Desire Under the Elms Oliver and Othello productions there.
