Bombings Target San Juan Banks Linked to Rocky Visit

In San Juan two Chase Manhattan Bank branches owned by the Rockefeller family were hit by high power bombs early today, tied to Vice President Nelson Rockefeller who was vacationing at Dorado Beach with his family. A third bomb damaged a transformer as photographers recalled his comment on the incidents.

Weather Outlook Through New Year With Warmer Days Ahead

Fair weather continues through New Year with highs today and Wednesday in the mid 50s to mid 60s. Tonight will be cooler with overnight lows in the upper 20s to 30s. Small craft advisory remains on the coast as northerly winds 15 to 30 mph ease tonight. Wednesday tides show low tides about 0.6 feet at 6 42 p.m. and 1.8 feet at 5 47 a.m. High tides reach about 5.7 feet at 11 46 a.m.

City plans cut in garbage and water rate hikes debated

City officials discussed halving proposed rate increases at a noon study session. A 16 percent garbage rise plus a February 50 cent bump may be trimmed, while water rates could rise 33.57 percent to fund a transmission line and a 3.5 million gallon reservoir planned for 1976–78. Public hearings set for Jan 7.
