The Board of Supervisors urged the State Division of Highways to place top priority on a bikeway from Lompoc to La Purisima Mission. They seek highway 246 widening from State Route 1 to Purisima Road for a Class II bike path. Christmas Tree Fire Kills Three at San Francisco Yacht Club
A Christmas tree burst into flames during a St. Francis Yacht Club party in San Francisco causing the deaths of three unidentified victims and injuries to eleven others.
