History group grows as Young Historians meet in Lompoc

Lompoc Valley Historical Society reports four of twenty California Young Historians chapters organized locally with Cabrillo High School group sponsored by Jim Gerard. Existing groups at Mission Vieja Lompoc High La Purisima Lompoc Jr High and Burton Mesa Discovery plan to attend the Riverside state conference next June.

Sanders Evans wedding at Vandenberg Chapel in December

Miss Jo Ann Sanders and Edward Lee Evans married in a Christmas season ceremony at Vandenberg Chapel with Chaplain James Hall presiding before about 100 guests. The bride, a Lompoc High School and Allan Hancock alum, and the groom, an Air Force member, will reside with the bride's parents until shipment to Hahn Air Base Germany.

Chanukah Party Planned by Vandenberg Jewish Community

Vandenberg-Lompoc Jewish Community to host its Chanukah celebration after Friday Sabbath services at 8 p.m. in the main chapel on Vandenberg Air Force Base led by Col. Carl Goldschlager. Native Daughters Bazaar Supports Scholarships and Charities

Native Daughters of the Golden West 327 will offer two college scholarships to high school seniors this year funded by the recent dinner and bazaar. A donation to the Children’s Foundation is planned, aiding children from infancy to 17 with special needs. A box of Christmas gifts went to the Veterans Hospital at Sawtelle, and a contribution to Pasadena’s Tournament of Roses float was announced.
