Scientists report results of developing synthetic gene
SAN FRANCISCO UPI The team at MIT announced the creation of a working synthetic gene after a nine year effort. They say the gene works in bacteria and will help uncover how genetic defects arise and how inherited diseases occur. Researchers caution cures are far in the future and say there is no basis for concern about harmful manipulation.
