Remembrance of Santa Rita Church and Its People
Arthur Hapgood recalls the Santa Rita Church near the Louis Streeter and Hapgood ranches, its 1889 dedication, and the tight knit community. He notes onetime squatter efforts, cooperative schooling, Ladies Aid activities, and ministers who served with devotion, ending as the building becomes a private residence on the Toby Negus property.
