About 300 firefighters battled to control the final major brush blaze in a trio that burned roughly 45 000 acres and displaced 650 residents. The Moosa Canyon fire north of Escondido in San Diego County was expected to be fully contained by 10 p m. Runoff concerns were raised for Walker Basin as a rainy season looms. The Riverside County Walker Canyon blaze threatened Temecula and Murrieta but left structures intact. one fire destroyed six homes and an avocado grove in El Cajon with damages around 360 000 dollars.
