California approves 3.2 million for Santa Barbara County expressway
The California Highway Commission in Sacramento allocates 3,200,000 for a 6.1 mile two lane expressway on Route 166 in Santa Barbara County between Aliso Creek and Wild Cow Creek. The project cost totals 6.9 million and will be funded partly in 1971-72. Completion ties coastal 101 near Santa Maria to Route 99 and I-5 near Bakersfield. An additional 30,000 was approved for culverts on Routes 1 and 68 in Monterey County.
