Vice President Spiro T. Agnew announced in Seoul that the United States will reinforce South Korea with F4 Phantom jets and other aid as 20 000 U.S. troops withdraw. Infant dies after being run over by father's car
A 15 month old girl, Stacie Hager of Lompoc, died en route to Santa Barbara hospital after being run over when her father Larry Hager backed the car at the rear of Safeway Market. The incident occurred as the family gathered boxes at 8:40 p.m. near 605 N. H Street. Police say the infant fell from the vehicle during the maneuver and was later pronounced dead on arrival. In other news, two local accidents produced minor injuries and one arrest for drunk driving as CHP logged incidents on Highway 246 and East Ocean Avenue.
