California approves regional sewer plant for Lompoc area
The state approves a five million gallon a day regional sewer plant to serve Lompoc Mission Hills and Vandenberg Village with eventual 12 mgd capacity. Construction could start September 1974 with completion by early 1976 and first phase costs at about 9 million funded 87 percent by state and federal grants.

Investigators say the car swerved off the road and rolled over possibly after the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
