Lompoc Sees Slight Rise in Property Tax Revenue

City Administrator Gene Wahlers told the council that the tax rate remains at $1.24 per $100 of assessed valuation for the next fiscal year and the city may gain $15 000 to $20 000 more in property tax revenue due to higher valuations. The council adopted resolutions setting the tax rate and total revenue needed from property taxes.

Musician sought by school district for instrumental teaching

McClellan Nominated for Santa Ynez District Board Seat

Francis H. Beattie nominates former supervisor R B McClellan to fill the unexpired term of Charles Sudden on the Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District board of directors. The nomination will be acted upon by the county supervisors on Monday. Sudden’s resignation letter is with the clerk for submission. Teachers Orient for District Five Day Program

More than 600 school teachers are expected to attend a five day orientation program. Sessions at each school include get acquainted activities followed by Wednesday addresses from Dr. Lawrence E. County planning eyes ordinance changes on mobile home parks

County Planning Commission members discussed study proposals to consider ordinance changes affecting future mobile home park operations in the county. Director Diverbiss said staff is formulating a study outline on the matter per Board of Supervisors directive.

Commissioner Approves Rezone for Farm Implement Sales

Approval was given Wednesday to Andrew T. Peterson of Santa Ynez for re zoning of property north of State Highway 246 and west of Buellton Parkway for retail sales of new farm implements. The Board of Supervisors will consider staff drawn conditions at the August 27 session.
