County to decide on removing farmland area for motorbike use

The County Planning Commission met Wednesday to consider permitting motorbike use on a 30 acre segment of Buellton area agricultural land, requiring Board of Supervisors action to remove it from the preserve. The commission also continued a Sept 22 hearing on Pea Soup Andersen’s request to rezone land south of the Santa Ynez River along U S 101 from 100 acre agricultural to highway commercial.

Hampton Preliminary Hearing Continued in Lompoc Court

Kenneth Troy Hampton 24 of 217 N. M St. had a preliminary hearing on multiple theft and drug charges continued to Sept 1 in Lompoc Justice Court after a three week investigation. He denied the charges at arrest July 28 by a law enforcement task force.

Funeral services for Luther G. Clem in Lompoc

Luther Garland Clem 61 died yesterday at home in Lompoc. Funeral tomorrow at 10 a.m. at McPeek Family Mortuary with Rev. W B Petzoldt of Bethany Lutheran Church officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Born May 11 1910 in Winchester Virginia he lived in Lompoc eight years at 508 S R St. Survived by widow Hilda five sons Jack Gary William Robert and Frank Clem of Los Angeles two daughters Careth Grossman and Nancy White of Lompoc three sisters Margarita Brill Hilda Sirbaugh Helen Baker all of Winchester Virginia parents William and Mrs. Clem of Winchester Virginia and 12 grandchildren.
