Law enforcement view: ATF bomb demonstration at Vandenberg

ATF special investigators demonstrated garden fertilizer and fuel oil bombs at Vandenberg Air Force Base for about 250 officers from the tri county area. A briefcase bomb disintegrated a desk, and a 1 700 pound fertilizer bomb was cited in Wisconsin. The seminar aimed to show bomb types and response. Weich noted West Coast bombings comprise a large share of national incidents with rising injuries. Forty five case files were sent to Justice in four months.

Meir not told of Dayan speech on annexation plan

Government said Prime Minister Golda Meir was not informed in advance of Defense Minister Moshe Dayan's speech proposing annexation of captured Arab lands after Arab refusal of peace. Dayan spoke to officers. Meir's office framed the speech as not submitted to her.
