An open house for the new Lompoc Hospital Convalescent and Residential Care unit will be Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Walnut and Third Streets. Construction began in July 1974 with total cost estimated at 1 560 949 dollars. The hospital plans to admit patients from August 22 and will transfer 36 current long term care patients to the new unit.

City library board approves countywide library pact changes
The Lompoc Library Board of Trustees voted to recommend to the City Council the 1975-76 Countywide Free Library System agreement for Zone Two. The per capita rate rises to 3.68 dollars, funding Zone Two and the Buellton and Vandenberg Village branches.
