Reagan grants cash rewards to two state workers

In Sacramento, Governor Ronald Reagan awarded Ena E. Charlton a senior clerk typist and John W Devinney an assistant highway engineer $10,680 each for a proposal that saved the state $430,207 in a year. They could earn another $11,000 each if a Merit Award board recommendation passes next year.

Blood for Admission in Dracula Play at Seattle U

Seattle University producers offer free admission in exchange for a pint of blood to a local blood bank. Cast members attempted to donate but several issues caused tainted samples and health concerns. In the end six pints were collected from students and graduates to publicize the production.

Boy Lives With Grandmother's Body Five Days

A 10 year old boy lived alone with his grandmother Frances May Elliott 69 for five days after she died Saturday in their Oxnard California home. The boy, a fourth grade student, said the grandmother fell in the bedroom and died. The mother was out of state visiting friends and returned Wednesday triggering discovery of the death. Authorities are investigating.
